European Championship 2008 - Spain
Spain have won the 1964 Euro Championships but since then they have won nothing a bit like England, which is surprising considering the Premier League in the UK and La Liga in Spain are two of the best leagues in the World, but there is a trend emerging in that both countries have many foreign players playing in their domestic league and while it makes for great club football it does little for their national game.
Spain finished top of Group F with 28 points two points ahead of Sweden and secured top position with a victory over Northern Ireland in their final group game.
Spain do have the potential star of the Euro 2008 Championships in Fernando Torres playing his football with Liverpool and would be a good bet for top goal scorer of Euro 2008.
The Spanish coach is Luis Aragones who guided is team through a poor start in the qualifying round to take 25 points out of 27 after the first 3 games when they were looking out of it and now he needs to build on this as he has many talented players to try and break their duck since 1964.
Spain are a best price 8/1 with Ladbrokes for the 2008 Euro Championships.
Player To Watch - Cesc Fabregas
Fabregas could be the best player in the World and with the likes of Torres to have selected from for the Spanish best player there was no doubt that Fabregas wins this hands down. Fabregas has it all now that he is also scoring goals and he has such an air about him for such a young man he is leading the Arsenal challenge for the Premier League and as long as he is fit both Arsenal and Spain have chances of winning their respective targets in 2008.
